Art

Visual Arts at REPS is a child-centred program that aligns with the school's values - respect, responsibility, choice, high expectations and safety. Visual arts at REPS is aimed at fostering confident, curious, imaginative learners who enjoy being creative.

The program is structured in a way that supports students at their point of need whilst allowing space and flexibility for student voice and choice. Learners at REPS develop their artistic conceptual understanding, critical reasoning and practical skills through expanding their understanding of their own world and other worlds.

Students make and respond to art using different forms of art-making including drawing, painting, collage, digital art, sculptural work and ceramics. Artful thinking is embedded throughout the program. Developed by Harvard Project Zero, artful thinking supports students to develop thinking dispositions and thoughtful learning through making thinking visible in the art room.

Our art program embraces the cultural diversity of our school community by celebrating artists, art movements and styles from all over Australia and around the world.
