Physical Education

At Reservoir East Primary School, we provide a strengths-based Physical Education program from F-6.

For the junior classes, our program focuses on movement skills, active play, and body awareness. Fundamental motor skills such as catching, throwing, balancing, jumping, and kicking are introduced through drills and circuits, however the focus is for students to be given the opportunity to practise and refine their skills within team-game and whole group activity contexts.

For the middle and senior classes, students further develop fundamental movement skills through targeted games, coordination activities, and team-centred activities to foster students’ understanding of fair play and sportsmanship. We are also very lucky to have many regular visits from different organisations such as the AFL who provide small group workshops with the whole school over a sequence of lessons during their PE lessons.

We also participate in whole school swimming lessons during the year and host our yearly school-wide sports carnival with our Red, Blue, Green and Yellow houses!
